Marinated Flank Steak

Marinated Flank Steak

2 lbs beef flank steak (or your favorite cut of steak)
1/4 cup sesame seed*
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup soya sauce
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 small onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp ginger

Marinate in fridge several hrs or overnight, turning once. Then BBQ.

* I usually leave the sesame seeds out, as I never seem to have them on hand.

Oven Potatoes

This is a tasty way to do potatoes. I just put it together from memory - don't know if there was once a recipe or not. This is a great addition to steak or anything else from the bbq.

Oven Potatoes

5 or 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, chopped
3 or 4 carrots (optional)
1/4 cup or so green pepper (optional)

Mix all ingredients in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with seasoning salt, pepper and about a 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Melt 1/4 cup margarine and pour over top. Mix and put in 350 oven for about an hr.

We like them with either ketchup, bbq sauce or sour cream.

Cottage Cheese Crescent Rolls

This is a simple recipe, but takes a bit of time to roll out and make these little rolls.

Cottage Cheese Crescent Rolls

Whip 1 1/2 cups creamed cottage cheese in blender. Add 1 cup butter, beat together. Add 2 cups flour until blended.

Let stand in fridge overnight (I wrapped mine in saran wrap and only let it chill a couple hrs. I'm not organized enough to think of these things the day before I want to make them). :)

Roll out in circles on floured board. (I divided the dough into thirds, rolling them out separately). Cut into triangles and roll up starting at the wide end. Bake at 350 until brown (I baked them for about 13 minutes - probably should've done them a tad longer).

Drizzle a thin glaze on them when cool. Scrumptious!
